Dear Mr. Harold Ford Sr. and Staff...On behalf of the family of Julia S. Thompson, we wanted to personally thank you for your tremendous support, help and patience while preparing our loved one's "Homegoing." The amount of time and effort Ms. Caitlin, Ms. Lori and Mr. Torian gave to us was over and beyond what we could have ever imagined. Since this was our first time preparing a funeral, we had no idea what to expect. We were learning as we go. Every request, every concern and every detail that we had concerning our loved one was addressed personally by them or others on your staff. When we had a small hiccup with the casket, your staff was quick to catch it and make the necessary corrections to ensure our satisfaction. We could not have been more PLEASED with the final arrangements for my mother and wife. We are so thankful for your ability to live stream the visitation and services for those who could not be in attendance due to the pandemic. As it turned out, we received personal service from the owner himself at unusual hours as a highly trained staff worked to manage all the details and family requests. The family of Mary Lynne Richmond would like to thank Serenity for unparalleled, professional and compassionate service. Our journey with Serenity began in October, 2015 with mom's pre-need appointment. As we entered the grounds, a maintenance staffer saw us, stopped what he was doing, went to the appropriate entrance and waited for us. He motioned us his way, greeted us with a smile and opened the door so we could walk in. THIS SPOKE VOLUMNES to us. Mr. Ford cheerfully greeted us and escorted us on our tour of the grounds . After completing the pre-need process, we left Serenity feeling totally at ease, knowing she had made the best decision in allowing Serenity to care for her. Once she passed, Andre Monroe and Roney Simelton met us with so much compassion. They took great care of her and were so patient with us during this time. From the very beginning to the end, Mr. Ford, Andre, Roney, Daniel and the entire Serenity staff far exceeded our expectations. We are forever grateful and Wii encourage others to entrust their loved ones to Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Society.

FROM THE FAMILY OF ELDER SHAFFER WASHINGTON, Airman 2nd class Mr. Ford and Mr. Monroe (Andre), I want to express my sincerest gratitude to you and the Serenity staff. My family and I have some difficult days ahead but you all have exceeded EVERY expectation in caring for us. I am not the kind of person who throws out undeserved compliments, particularly when conducting business. My expectations are high when it comes to good customer service. That is exactly what you all provided. Daniel worked a miracle on an old military photo and made it virtually flawless. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We loved the fact that we could cover every aspect of my stepdad's home going celebration in one place. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO MY MOM!! Equally as important to her was that none of her family and friends would have to cook and clean and transport food back and forth. She wanted everyone to be able to sit and enjoy each other the way her husband would have wanted. A SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL breath of fresh air to be able to do that Mr. Ford. Having a spirit of excellence doesn't mean that things will always be perfect. What it does mean is that when things do happen, the people in charge go above and beyond to rectify, bringing resolve by any means necessary. That's what defines excellence. There was a tiny hiccup along the way that had I not been the coordinator, I may not have been aware. By the time I brought it up, Andre had already handled it!!! WOW'd by the corrective measures taken!!! The icing on the cake: After every funeral I hear, 'if you ever need us please let us know.' At Serenity, Andre said it too. Not only did he say it, but he has called, text, and even stopped by to check on us. He didn't wait for us to discover we needed them. He has checked on my mom and our family regularly. You've taken care of us from beginning to end as if we were your own family. It just doesn't get any better than that. Your knowledge, experience and connections in the industry were priceless. You have blazed a trail within our family. Everyone we talk to is saying how beautiful everything was and that this is definitely the route they will be taking for themselves and others. My Mom (Big Boss) was well pleased and we could not have been served by a better team. Thank you Mr. Ford & Serenity Team and thank you Andre for your special attention.

Andre: I wanted to express my sincere appreciation to you and the staff at Serenity. The loss of a loved one is extremely difficult, especially the loss of a mother. Suddenly the backbone of your family is gone and a lot of decisions have to be made in a short time. From my first interactions with you to my very last interaction with the driver/attendant, this experience was made easier. Your ability to explain options clearly and thoroughly, to provide guidance/recommendations, and to follow-up to ensure that we stayed on track in providing you info by deadlines, reflected your professionalism and experience. From beginning to end and through all the hiccups, you ALL took care of my mom, me and my family. You never stopped "making it work" and that's what people in my situation need during these times.
