Obituary for Benjamin Helling
Benjamin David Helling, 34, died December 9, 2014, at his home in Cordova.
He is survived by his parents, Kathryn and Ron Edmonds of Cordova and David Helling and Aysha Griffin of Santa Fe, NM, and siblings, Stephen Edmonds and Rachel McDaniel of Cordova, Richard Helling of Memphis, Chuck Reilly of Greeneville, SC, and Robert Allen and Jeff Hodge of Bartlett, along with a loving extended family and close friends in Memphis, Santa Fe and Asheville, NC.
Ben was a 1998 graduate of the Memphis Culinary Academy and worked as a chef in fine dining establishments in Memphis and Santa Fe.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 15, at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Cordova.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Peace Church, 810 8th St, Las Vegas, NM 87701, c/o The Rev. Tom Woodward, a spiritual mentor and friend of Ben’s.
